Q and A

I have not kept up this Blog for ages and stuff has moved on.

Feel free to ask questions and I will try my very best to answer them. I will check once a week for questions.

  1. Hello Derek, I have successfully used your Trainlightmap with diffuse tutorial here on your blog, and I was wondering if there is a way to use the same tutorial but instead of using a diffuse map with a light map, is there a way to use a glossy map with a light map?

  2. Hello Derek. I am running into a problem with shaders. I am running Max R9 and I am not seeing all of the shaders listed; when I compare the ones installed in Max against the ones in the RW\dev\Shaders folder I find I am missing quite a few. Any thoughts on this problem? I have created a model and it has lights on it that I want to illuminate at night and I am looking for the TrainEmissiveGlow.fx shader and I cannot locate it in Max.

  6. Where do I actually see which textures are in a ground texture set, as I'm making a new route. But the game doesn't provide any previews.

    Im just having a hard time searching since I'm new, I'm looking through this blog as we speak, and google doesn't find a lot either, I would have to load up all the routes one by one and it would kind of take a long time.
