In this blog I'll be talking about how RS.com go about creating art assets for RailWorks.
There will be a Q and A, tutorials, hints and tips along with posts from guest creators.
If you are a budding content creator for RailWorks then this is the place for you.
Before we get going there is already a wealth of information on the RWs Wiki;

Hi and thanks for taking the time out from a busy schedule, Derek.

BTW, the full quote is, "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" and very apt, here. Great film, great music, it's one of the few modern films I can watch over and over.

I have used a 2048 x 1024 texture okay (PS Ryde*). But what pixel resolution do you recommend - ie Paint Shop Pro is 72 by default, but I've doubled that sometimes to 144 in order to achieve finer detail in the artwork? Thanks.
ReplyDelete*Longer shapes, such as a ship's hull/deck, look better with artwork done on 'wider' textures.

Thanks for the comments Bazza, I'll look to explain and share what I know. First in depth post will be this evening.
